Will Pontiac Have a League?

It looks like the status of the Pontiac league is still up in the air. It is rumored that Pontiac has cut all adult rec sports so that either means no more Class A baseball or fees will have to be increased to cover all costs. I know last year we were told that we had to be self funded but I was told in reality we weren't.

This is the exact reason why (along with others, see post below) why we decided to finally leave Pontiac. There are a lot of teams right now having to make a tough decision on if they want to roll the dice and see if Pontiac will be around or if they want to jump ship now and look for another league. SCS deadline is next week so that doesn't give teams a lot of time to plan.

I have no idea what any of them will do. I have only been in contact with the Parkers, Bulls and Cardinals and none of them have made a decision. I know the Parkers and Bulls have inquired about SCS but I know their first choice is still Pontiac. Hopefully they will get an answer on Pontiac in the next day or two so they know if they have to look somewhere else to play or not.

I would hate to see Pontiac go away but it seems like it is only a matter of time at this point. Unless someone can come in and take the league over from the city I don't see the league lasting too many more years (or even one more year).

UPDATE: It was just learned, Wednesday March 5, that the Pontiac League will continue on. No real details on costs increases or anything but a few sources have been told that the league will continue. The Cubs would like to wish all the Pontiac League teams success this year and hopefully we will see you at tournaments down the road!
